James Paul Price, Jr., 81, of Roanoke Rapids died Monday, November 8, 2010.

Mr. Price was born November 16, 1928 in Halifax County, the youngest of seven children born to the late James Paul Price, Sr. and Lonora Cook Price. He attended Weldon City Schools and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Price was retired from Weldon Roofing, having worked there for 44 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Elks Price, and his daughter, Penny Price.

He is survived by two daughters, Tina P. Carr and her husband, David, of Halifax, and Patsy Barnes of Roanoke Rapids; his son, Paul Price and his wife, Lisa, also of Roanoke Rapids; nine grandchildren, Tammy Cannon Griffin, Gina Cannon, Ryan Carr and his wife, Suzanne, Derrick Carr and his wife, Jensey, Greg Newsome and his wife, Carla, Scotty Williams, Nicole Price, Katelynn Price and Jerry Price; three great-grandchildren, Kara and Dylan Newsome, and Jenny Griffin; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Martin officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the fellowship hall, and other times at the home of his daughter, Tina Carr, at 3612 Hwy. 125, Halifax, NC.
